The Next 20: Game On – When The Ground Shifts
15 June 2026 | Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain
The conversations start here. Join fellow leaders, founders and operators as the industry gathers to reconnect, exchange perspectives and take the pulse of the moment – ahead of a day focused on what’s next.
Up until late February, the Middle East looked unstoppable – a region where aviation scaled, capital flowed, digital accelerated and ambition knew few limits. Then, almost overnight, the ground shifted.
This is not just a regional story – it is a global system being tested.
In this opening, we set the stage for a different kind of conversation. Not one driven by headlines, but by perspective. What has truly changed? What remains fundamentally intact? And what does this moment reveal about the deeper resilience of travel?
Because if history has taught us anything, it is this: travel does not retreat – it recalibrates.
Plus, our “Letters To The Future” makes its appearance as it travels round the world of WiT in 2026.

In moments of disruption, it is operators on the ground who see first, react fastest and learn hardest. In this session, regional travel leaders share what the early days of uncertainty actually looked like from inside the system – how demand shifted, where pressure points emerged, and what decisions had to be made in real time. Beyond response, we explore what has changed more fundamentally: how they now think about risk, resilience and the future shape of their business in a region that remains full of promise, even amid uncertainty.

From the outside, the Middle East has long been seen as one of travel’s most promising growth arenas – a region where ambition, investment and connectivity converge. But how does that view change when uncertainty enters the picture? Global platforms reflect on how they are recalibrating their strategies, reassessing risk, and rethinking product, partnerships and positioning for the region. Is this a pause, a pivot — or simply part of a longer cycle of growth?

When disruption hits, aviation feels it first and absorbs it most visibly.
In this session, we step back to examine how recent events have reshaped global air connectivity, through both data and lived experience. From network shifts to capacity decisions, from operational resilience to strategic recalibration, what has this moment revealed about the true role aviation plays in holding the system together?
Because if one thing has become clear, it is this: the Middle East is not just part of the global network – it is one of its critical connectors.
We begin with a data-led view of the shifting aviation landscape, before turning to an industry leader to reflect on what has changed, what has held, and how they are preparing for what comes next.
Presentation:
Coffee Chat:
If aviation is the infrastructure that connects the world, social is increasingly the layer that shapes how travellers discover and decide.
In this session, we’ll explore:
- How social influence in travel is evolving from inspiration to transaction
- Whether social is ultimately a force for good, evil, or simply ungoverned power
- The growing tension between authenticity, performance and profit
- The risks ahead: trust erosion, creator fatigue, and destination backlash
- What brands, destinations and platforms must rethink to stay relevant — and responsible.

From strategy to storytelling, this is a conversation about how destinations move beyond noise – and into meaning.
