WiT Africa was first launched as a virtual edition in 2021 to form a bridge between Africa and Asia, to share lessons and best practices across regions.


In 2024, WiT Africa will be launched as a physical event, in partnership with Innovation City and Travelstart, to further strengthen that bridge between Africa, Asia and the rest of the world to unearth and share the latest innovations and trends happening in travel technology, distribution and marketing.


With Africa soon be the world’s biggest population at 1.72 billion by 2023 – and even more significant, 477 million of those will be young people, between 15 and 35 – it will without doubt rise to be a significant force shaping online travel.


WiT Africa, to be held in the beautiful city of Cape Town, will feature the who’s who of Africa’s travel tech industry leaders as well as top travel minds from Asia and beyond.


Its objective is to showcase the dynamism and diversity of the African travel startup ecosystem, as well as the trends, issues and opportunities within the African online travel market. For global travel brands, it will be an opportunity to learn about an exciting new region as well as form relationships and build partnerships for the future. For travel players based in Africa, it will be an opportunity to take lessons from the rest of the world and build relationships for global outreach.


WiT Africa 2024 will comprise a WiT Bootcamp on March 14, aimed at empowering startups and micro-businesses in digital, and a WiT Main Stage on March 15 that will serve as a platform for thought leaders to share insights and lessons and unearth opportunities for the future.
